St Peter's School, York
The Boat House Appeal
St Peter’s School has been granted planning permission for a new Boathouse - an incredibly exciting project, that will enable us to increase access to rowing within our community, inspiring current and future generations of pupils.
We are extraordinarily proud of all that our rowers have achieved, and we are delighted to have an opportunity to secure the future of rowing, and inspire many generations to come, with the creation of new facilities.
But we cannot do it without your help. The total cost of the build is estimated at £1.2million – too much to be covered by fee income alone. The more we raise, the sooner we can build – with benefits not just for our rowers, but for every pupil, as they move through our sports programme.
By sponsoring a brick, you aren’t just helping us financially – you’re showing your support for the School, and for our pupils. Bricks will be installed on the wall of the Upper Boathouse, and your message will stand as a lasting legacy.
We’re offering four different options for brick sponsorship, to make it as easy as possible to show your support. Single height terracotta bricks are just £100, with your message in black writing, while double height bricks are £200. A very limited number of bricks inscribed with gold are available for special messages: single height bricks are available for sponsorship of £500, and double height bricks can be secured for £1000.
All our sponsors will also be included in the Roll of Honour, to go on display in the main School building.
- SPONSOR A BRICK: We’re launching our first-ever brick sponsorship campaign – an opportunity for pupils, parents, Old Peterites and supporters to make their mark on this tremendously exciting project.
- PLANNING UPDATE: We’re delighted to report that planning permission, with some conditions, has been granted for the Boathouse project. Further work on meeting the conditions, mostly of an environmental nature, is underway with the project team.
- THANKS TO OUR OLD PETERITES: The Telethon campaign, which was raising money for fee assistance and the proposed Boathouse, has been the most successful ever – thank you for your outstanding support!
